• “Shine” by Manuka

During Covid when I was in Michigan there was nothing to do so I would go out to natural settings, walk around, and fly the drone. This was from one of those cold winter afternoons at Asylum Lake in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I learned to fly drones here and this was the last time I went.

My friend Julie Earle messaged that she had just finished and released a new song for her group Manuka. The song was “Shine” and I listened to it that night and it sounded perfect to go with the drone video. I told her I would put together a video.

And then I moved to Virginia.

Last night I finally found this song and the drone footage I haven’t seen in 5 years, as well as all my other cool Michigan drone video.

Well Julie, I’m sorry it took 5 years but here you go. I hope you like it. I think the mood of the song and the cold starkness of the video work well together. Enjoy.

  • Wow…

    I have a WordPress account.

    And it’s 8 years old.

    And nothing?

what a waste of time and webspace.

I finally did a music video for a friend for a song. It only took 5 years.

She has a new song. It’s very sad and about her Mom.

I’m going to try and make something special for her.

    Here are the lyrics tease:

    Fall Apart

Im finally healing but it still stings

Im afraid to get too happy

Because then it only hurts more

    I don’t know if I’m strong enough

I always try to do the right things

But I get caught up in anxiety

My fear gets the best of me

    I feel hypnotized

    I feel paralyzed

I’m just tryin to make space for myself

    Tryin to find some security

cause There’s no one left to look after me

Or pick up the pieces when I fall apart

    Fall apart fall apart

Who’s gonna Pick up the pieces when I fall apart

Sometimes I want to stop time

not think about what could happen

It’s interfering with my good feelings

    Im worrying those times away

I’m just tryin to make space for myself

    Tryin to find some security

cause There’s no one left to look after me

Or pick up the pieces when I fall apart
